Why you should attend?
The media makes a big deal about making transportation and food choices in order to conserve resources and to reduce carbon emissions to the atmosphere. The biggest impact on the environment is from the buildings that we work, study, live and entertain ourselves in. Energy is needed to construct them and even more is needed to heat, cool and illuminate them. The building industry is responding to global climate change by developing new standards that are based on reducing the need for mechanical systems to heat, cool and light up spaces while providing comfortable and healthy interior environments. This workshop teaches the physics behind energy efficient architecture as well as a hands-on experience in low energy construction techniques. No previous experience required.
