Eilat-Eilot was established with the goal to develop the Eilot and Eilat regions by utilizing renewable energy as a regional development catalyst. As part of our work we have encouraged and promoted the establishment of renewable energy research divisions in the local academic and research institutions.

Dead Sea & Arava Science Center

DSASC Goals:

To conduct applied research based on the region’s relative advantages, within the context of sustainable development.

To be a center for cross-border scientific cooperation.

To improve scientific literacy in the local adult and youth populations.

To be a focal point for mapping, developing, and spreading knowledge regarding issues of importance to the Dead Sea and Arava through conferences, courses, publications, and more.

To promote in the growth of the scientific community in the region.

Arava R&D

Southern Arava R&D (SA R&D) hosts various scientific activities including soil and water sciences, postharvest, horticulture, flowers and ornamental plants, vegetables, plant protection and agrotechnology.

The soil, water and plant testing lab serves the SA R&D researchers and together with extension officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, provides comprehensive support for the region’s farmers, landscapers and gardeners.

Arava Institute

The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies is the premier environmental studies and research program in the Middle East. Accredited through Ben-Gurion University, the Arava Institute houses academic programs, research centers, and international cooperation initiatives focusing on a range of environmental concerns and challenges.

With a student body comprised of Jordanians, Palestinians, Israelis, and students from around the world, the Arava Institute offers students an exceptional opportunity to learn from leading professionals while forming friendships and developing skills that enable them to lead the region and the world in solving today’s most pressing environmental challenges.
