Wind Turbine Project In Kibbutz Elifaz

Dreams can become reality and the wind turbine project in Kibbutz Elifaz is a true example of this.

The project was established through the joint efforts of Kibbutz Elifaz and
DND Energy, Eilat. After conducting wind measurements across various areas in the Arava, Elifaz was chosen as the ideal location for this exciting project.

This unique venture is the first of its kind in Israel, where turbines are connected to the national electricity grid. The first pilot involved the use of four powerspin6 turbines with 6 meter blades installed on fifteen meter high poles.

Small wind turbines are a revolutionary technology that allow for the creation of electricity, even in weaker winds. There advantages are many, including the creation of green energy for the electricity grid without making too much noise or taking up space. In the near future another twenty units will be installed.

This project was made possible with the help of Udi Gat, Yoni Farjun, Dorit Benet and a local construction team, reflecting the wonderful co-operation between the regional council, Eilat businesses and the kibbutz.
