Abbas Kazemi, the director of Iran’s Fuel Conservation Company, recently stated that Iran is aiming to expand its activity in solar electricity generation systems that supply power to houses.
A significant part of this expansion is the design, manufacturing and installation of solar power plants across 5 different countries, by Iranian engineers. Power stations have been installed in Pakistan, India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. These stations will use hybrid PV/T systems (photovoltaic thermal hybrid solar collectors) for buildings, which will save a considerable amount of money.
Iran’s activity in solar power has so far attracted more than $1.1 billion in investments for three new power plants. It currently trades power with a range of countries, including Syria, Turkey and Armenia.
