Solarian Energy has created solar lighting poles that are designed to be installed in areas that lack electricity infrastructure. Such areas include driveways, nature reserves and parking lots. Using the advantage of contstant sunshine enjoyed by Israel, the company has designed lighting fixtures with built in solar panels that absorb the sun’s rays during the day to provide energy for LED lighting at night.
The company will install 10 fixtures in Yotvata which will demonstrate the many advantages of this new, eco-friendly technology. The fixtures themselves provide over 50,000 hours of bulb life, a high intensity light output, are quick and easy to install, requiring no maintenance and are extremely cost effective to operate. They contain the added advantage of being able to work even on cloudy days, providing up to 30 hours of light without solar loading.
These solar light fixtures exemplify the thriving new technology which is being installed across areas in the Southern Arava region, demonstrating how solar energy can transform areas without any electricity infrastructure.
