In order to connect the solar fields which are currently being planned and built in the Arava, the Israel Electric Company has included the upgrading of the Yotvata alternate power station (conduction from the low voltage network to the high-voltage network) in the work programs for 2012, so that the stations will be able to connect efficiently to the distribution lines and from there to send electrical current to the conduction pipes. The Electric Company has at the same time taken upon itself the building of a new alternate power station, for the large solar field on Ketura. In order to implement this endeavor as well as other work connected to conducting electricity in the region, the Electric Company has brought Rami Bar-Niv and his family down to the Arava. We hope that they will soon feel at home here and that the work on upgrading reception of electricity in the divided network will help the solar fields to send electrical current to the network.
