U.S ambassador Mr. Dan Shapiro arrived for a short visit in the Arava, following our win at a $88,000 grant from MEPI to promote off-grid technologies. The ambassador and his team visited a variety of renewable energy sites in the Eilot region. The new Eilat-Eilot R&D center and our off-grid technology hub.
Shapiro stated that he believes that renewable energy has an important role in the development of the middle east, and that this field has the potential to create opportunities to improve quality of life, for the locals in the Arava and in all of Israel.
The joint project of Eilat-Eilot and MEPI will conceive a competition for off-grid entrepreneurship, installation of new technologies for solar water desalination and tours and workshops for 650 student from the Eilat-Eilot area.
