The MS Turanor PlanetSolar is the world’s largest solar powered boat. Last week it completed a two month scientific expedition across the Atlantic when it docked in Canary Warf, London. The vessel has been collecting data on the effects of climate change on the Gulf Stream. It is powered by 512 square meters of solar pv panels and it is the first boat to circumnavigate the world using solar power only.
